July 27th, 2009
We’re very excited to watch the latest project by Sydney-sider Denise Litchfield of grrl +dog unfold. She’s planning on knitting up an historic public amenities on August 8th in a project she’s calling The Knitted Convienience.

The project references other artists’ public knit works such as the knitted tank in Denmark in 2006 and the US knitted gas station in 2007 but explores new territory, playing with the tension between feelings of comfort and revulsion by using only yellow wool and, of course, by knitting up the structure of a dunny. A DUNNY. Brilliant.
